After a “delta” launch-readiness review, NASA and SpaceX have cleared the Demo-2 mission for Saturday’s launch attempt, scheduled for 3:22 p.m. EDT. Mission managers now have to take weather into account; the forecast shows a strong possiblity weather conditions won’t allow a launch. Bad weather scrubbed Wednesday’s attempt to launch the mission, the first launch of astronauts on an American rocket from American soil since the last space shuttle mission in 2011. “I think our teams worked together in a really impressive way, making good decisions all along,” NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine said after the scrub was announced. Members of the public can participate in the mission through NASA’s virtual guest operations.
